Day Three. |

Filmed a couple of scenes in Globes with Dorien and Andrea. All good. In the story Seren has to be a singer and luckily Andrea can belt out a tune. I wanted her to sing along to a jazzed up version of the National Anthem but sing it in English. Unfortunately the piece I received was slightly too high for her to sing to. I had to ask her to sing it with no musical accompaniment. She did well. It might prove more of a headache though when I ask Mark, my composer, to try and fit some music to her rendition. |

Mr Watkins arrived to finish up his Globetrotters scene. Took a little while but I managed to bring a smile to his face by producing not one but two packets of vintage 1980's style horror top trumps. Those were the days. Killing power, horror rating, fear factor and physical strength. Awesome. We'll see Ian later. |

Another new cast member today. Dixie Dickenson playing David the cop. David is one of Don's friends, well, closest Don would have to a friend. Dixie is distinctive looking. He has really piercing eyes and a bald head. He looks good on screen. We knew as soon as we saw him in the auditions that we would hire him. When showing him out he bumped into Dorien and it turned out that they were old friends. They already had chemistry. Woo-hoo. I keep saying it but he's a lovely bloke too. We were really lucky with who we got to work with. Everyone was really nice, patient and generous. |

Dixie's scene with Dorien and Andrea in the bar went well. Time was threatening us again so we created a second unit. Some stayed in the bar while Alun and others headed up a nearby office to shoot Dixie's office scene. By the time we met up again we were near enough back on schedule and due to be at the Old Bridge for 2100. |

The Old Bridge. Ponty's most famous landmark. Typically we can't go by unnoticed. Then again we have got three big lights and a damn petrol powered generator on the go. We stand out a bit. Two muppets decided they wanted a closer look. They got into a few peoples faces. The usual wanting a fight just because stereotype that I often defend Ponty against. They started getting worse. Luckily the police turned up and shepherded them on. We got the rest of the scene done pretty quickly after that. This scene did generate my favourite memory of the shoot. The camera was set up in the road so whenever a car would come somebody would shout 'Car!' In response everybody automatically responded like wise. Car passed and someone called 'Game On!' to which people responded typically 'Game On!' Classic Wayne's World. I loved that. |

Onto the Clwb Y Bont again for the scene that we missed the night before. I needed the Prophets boys to beat up Dorien. For the film of course. For me, Jamie steals the scene. It was the first time that I couldn't yell cut because I was pissing myself laughing. All that was going fantastically until those two boys turn up again. Start giving it the big I am again and it all kicks off. Police eventually turn up. The two lads are arrested and assault charges are filled. Good enough for them. Undeterred, I step up to the challenge and become a proper director by making them get straight back to work injured or not. Two takes later we are done. Rhiannon and I stick around with the guys as we wait for the police. We get in at 3.15. |
